Telford U13’s 3 Halesowen U13’s 2

Telford U13’s started their league campaign with a 3-2 win against Halesowen thanks to a hat-trick by Stephen H-F at Shuker Fields.
The under 13’s started brightly with an early opening goal after 9 minutes after a through ball by Ryan H found Stephen H-F who found the back of the net from outside the edge of the box. Telford pushed for a second goal with a dominant first 20 minutes with Stephen H-F again close from long range after a through ball from Dan N. Against the run of play Halesowen breached the Telford defence but Telford were saved thanks to a last ditch tackle by Jimmy B. Telford again responded with a series of chances by Stephen H-F and Dan F just put wide. Halesowen came back into the game just before half time but were stopped by goal keeper by a good save by Matthew N. Halesowen drew level bang on 30 minutes after a floating ball wasn’t dealt with by the Telford defence and put in by the Halesowen striker.  But Telford responded to go infront again on 35 minutes when Stephen H-F picked up the ball out wide before running at the Halesowen defence cutting inside and hitting it past the stranded goal keeper.

Half time 2-1
Telford started the second half where they left off with two shots from Jack P came close to extending Telford’s lead.  Halesowen were much stronger in the second half and substitute goalkeeper Joe K made a good save one on one after Halesowen broke the Telford defensive line. Minutes later Joe K made another save stopping a shot which looked destined for the top corner. On 50 minutes Halesowen were given a penalty after Dan N tripped the Halesowen striker. The resulting penalty was hit right in the corner not giving the goal keeper any chance and the game was level. Telford responded to the equaliser well with Brooklyn K breaking through down the wing but couldn’t find a Telford shirt with the cross. Stephen H-F again came close with a series of efforts blocked by the Halesowen goal-keeper. Halesowen could have won the match on 60 minutes when they looked to be through but were stopped by a last ditch tackle by Jack S. Telford re-gained the lead on the 63rdminute after Stephen H-F outmuscled the Halesowen defence and rifled Telford back into the lead. Telford nearly extended their lead in the final ten minutes with Stephen H-F again close after being played through by Asa D.
Full time 3-2
